Onion Poha

Poha is sometimes called flattened rice or beaten rice, because, well … its been beaten and flattened. If you have never seen it, is has a resemblance to flakes of oat, and it is essentially instant rice.Poha2

This dish is traditionally served as a breakfast. It’s a quick to prepare filling dish, especially when served with a hard-boiled egg. However, when I tasted it my first thought was “So, its like Indian fried rice?” I could totally imagine serving it as a side with dinner. The flavour is warm and savoury, and the texture of the poha is light and fluffy.

So cook some up and decide for yourself!POha3
